Large matrix stibnites of this quality are quite uncommon from Baia Sprie. This is a striking two-sided vug filled with diverging jackstraw sprays of variably sized blades and needles. The crystals are splendent and show some beautiful iridescence. Every turn presents a different perspective to this dramatic specimen. This is one of the very finest and rarest stibnites in this size range, that we have offered at auction. Ex Robert Whitmore Collection # 1419. This excellent piece was collected at the very height of production in the late 1970s-early 1980s.
