Matrix Herkimer Quartz "diamonds"

A really cute and rare matrix Herkimer "diamond" cluster from Middleville. A 2.5 cm, facet-like quartz is adorably perched with smaller "diamonds" on the thin matrix plate covered with tiny sparkly quartz crystals. The large Herkimer looks like a flower bud about to open! The internal veils add character and this fine miniature is complete all-around and pristine. Matrix Herkimer "diamond" specimens are rare because the crystals commonly break off matrix during collecting, as the matrix is usually very hard. The sculptural quality of this uncommon matrix piece and the placement of the gem-like Herkimers make this a very fine, rare, highly representative specimen.
