Matrix amethyst specimens of this fine quality are not that common from Brandberg. This very aesthetic piece features a well-placed, 5.0 cm, complete all-around and pristine amethyst crystal beautifull set in a rounded vug. The amethyst is glassy, translucent with pretty variable purple shading. The clay inclusions in the amethyst and the sparkly spherical calcite aggegate REALLY add character. The drusy quartz lined vug is lined with a later generation of sparkly, hematite-tinted quartz with more of the light brown calcite spheroids. This fine matrix piece displays beautifully without aid and was in the Charlie Key Collection. So you know its good. Valued at $950. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!
