Item Description
Mascagnite is a rare ammonium sulfate occuring at active volcanic fumaroles, hot springs, and on burning coal mine dumps (MINDAT). The Kladno District coal mines of the Czech Republic have produced some of the finest example of this rare species. Granular white mascagnite is invested on all sides the sculptural lightweight miniature matrix. Portions of the mascagnite have faint blue fluorescence. Ex David Burgess Collection, for whom Burgessite is named. Comes with a label from noted Czech specialist, Josef Vajdak (Pequa Minerals).
