Item Description

Maricopaite is an ultra rare hydrated Pb-Zeolite Group species, unique to this obscure, interestingly named, former Au-Pb-Ag mine. It was only discovered in 1988 (MINDAT). A 6 mm across circular cluster of sprays of snow-white, acicular micro crystals is nicely set on the top of the gneiss matrix. There are a few more tiny patches scattered on the piece. Scattered yellow crusts of mimetite on all sides of the specimen are a colorful and customary accessory. Rare combination material from the Josef Vajdak Collection.
