Item Description

Maricopaite is one of the most unique minerals in the world, as it is the ONLY zeolite species in the world that contains lead as its essential cation. This mineral has only been found in ONE place in the world, the Moon Anchor Mine in Maricopa County, Arizona, and was approved as a new species in 1988. This piece is a fairly rich representation featuring attractive white acicular crystal "sprays" associated with minor yellow Mimetite on host rock matrix. We have photographed the piece with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to illustrate the quality. If you collect rarities, zeolites or minerals from the type locality, do not pass this one up, as it's the only one we have to offer. The piece comes with a classic label from noted Czech/Slovak mineral expert, Josef Vajdak of Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value.
