Item Description
A geometrically stunning, 4.1 cm, bullet-shaped, translucent, pastel-yellow pseudomorph of marialite (scapolite?) after a sharp afghanite crystal from the Type Locality area of Afghanistan. The tip of the crystal remains a very light blue. The crystal is dramatically perched atop the triangular, pyramidal matrix that has a couple of translucent, cornflower-blue afghanite crystals embedded in it. A real rarity from the Koksha Valley from the Herb Obodda dealer stock. Interesting LW & SW fluorescence on both the crystal and the matrix. The crystal fluoresceses yellow under LW UV. It has not been analysed. Herb valued this piece at $2000, more than five years ago.
