Marcasite (excellent & rare) Ordway & Trimingham Coll.

Item Description

A fabulous, 4.4 x 3.9 cm, spherical cluster of sharp, tightly intergrown golden-brassy marcasite crystals is dramatically perched on the sintered-looking matrix. This super and rare in this style piece has multiple outstanding display views. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and formerly in the Al Ordway Collection # 0246. His label says Zacatecas, Mexico, due to the botryoidal associations on the matrix, but it could be from Guanajuato. Either way, this is a superb and very rare marcasite from Mexico. A must for the locality or species collector.
