Item Description

This is one of, if not the best example of this particular material that we've had to offer in the auctions. This piece is a wonderful small cabinet sized display specimen featuring a rich coverage of superb quality, sharp, lustrous, metallic, soft golden colored, beautiful "cocks comb" crystal groups of Marcasite on host rock matrix. I have not seen many specimens with this attractive form, and you never see Marcasites from the Blackstone Mine on the market, so don't miss out. This specimen comes from the collection of our own Alex Venzke (#13.18), member of the leadership team of the Young Mineral Collectors group, a member of the mindat.org management team, a board member for the national Friends of Mineralogy organization, a board member for the Mineralogical Society of the District of Columbia, and co-founder and current Vice President of the Friends of Mineralogy Virginia Chapter.
