Marcasite (Bedogne Coll.)

Item Description

An elegant, centrally placed, 1.3 cm, starburst of lustrous, brassy marcasite blades is the focal point of aesthetic and showy small cabinet from this abandoned limestone quarry. The surrounding marcasite clusters on the limestone matrix add character. Mineral specimens are uncommon from here and this is a very fine example from the Francesco Bedogne Collection # 2249. Dr. Bedogne, 1942-2012, was a well-known Italian mineralogist, prolific author, field collector and collector.
