Item Description
Marcasite is very rare from this noted locale, famous for world class pyrite and pink fluorite. This striking and aesthetic diverging spray consists of two generations of marcasite. The large tabular, spearpoint blades have an second generation overgrowth of marcasite microcrystals with pretty golden, blue and magenta iridescence under bright light. A very fine, nearly pristine and rare, 360-degree specimen, with only one out-of-sight broken blade on the back of the piece. Ex Dr. Ed David Collection. Ed was Science Advisor to President Nixon and has assembled several world-class mineral collections. Value of such a rarity to the locality or species collector???
