Mansfieldite (RARE specimen & locality)

Mansfieldite is a rare hydrated aluminum arsenate, named after George Mansfield, an American geologist. It's the aluminum analogue of Scorodite, and specimens are rarely available on the market. This piece is from the little-known Djebel Debagh Mine in Algeria. I can only find one other example of this material for reference, and the specimen we have here I feel is superior in both size and quality. This specimen has been sawn on the front face, and polished to better show off the attractive soft blue-green hue (similar to pale Turquoise or Variscite). A great piece for any fan of rarities, as you never seen specimens from the Djebel Debagh Mine for sale.
