"Mango" Quartz

Item Description

A beautifully balanced small cabinet spray of four large "mango" quartz crystals is well-attended by a nest of smaller crystals on the flat matrix base. The largest crystal is 7.2 cm long. The distinctive orange-color color of the inclusions in the terminations above the water-clear bases has nicknamed these striking, colorful quartz crystals as "Mango Quartz". Initial analyses indicated the included yellow material was Humbodltine, but further testing suggested the material is Halloysite, a clay mineral. The four major crystals and two minor crystals are pristine. Two broken crystals are noted in the center of the matrix spray and there is a contact at the base of the large crystal on the left, but there is no damage, per se.
