Item Description
Rich specimen containing two distinct habits of Manganvesuvianite. There are sharp, terminated, and lustrous black crystals about .6 cm long, as well as reddish brown lathes up to about 1 cm that comprise the majority of the specimen. The luster of the black, prismatic crystals is superb, and this color is unusual for the species. Associated with the Manganvesuvianite is white Natrolite and gemmy, lustrous Hydroxyapophyllite. The Natrolite blades reach about 1.2 cm in length, while the Hydroxyapophyllite crystals reach almost .9 cm in size. This is a fine, representative combination piece from Wessels.
