Manganoan Vesuvianite (rare!)

This is a rare color-variety of Vesuvianite, known only in good quality from several pockets in this old asbestos mine in Quebec. It is a fine, sparkling miniature of magenta highlighted Manganoan Vesuvianite from the world-famous Jeffrey Mine in Canada. There is one main, chunky prismatic, 2 cm crystal on the piece accompanied by numerous smaller, 2 to 7 mm, scintillating Vesuvianite crystals that make up the remainder of the entire piece! All of the Vesuvianites are translucent, to slightly gemmy in areas, and it's the terminations that have the magenta coloration with a thin rind of magenta on some of the prism faces. All of them have excellent luster and sparkle. This tight cluster of varying size crystals is quite aesthetic, and better in person. An attractive miniature for this species, value $2500-plus. you simply cannot find these at shows in quality and if so, they are often damaged and yet priced egregiously anyways.
