Calcite, especially Manganoan Calcite, is RARE from this well-known extinct New Mexico Cu-Pb-Zn-Ag deposit. Manganoan Calcite specimens of this richness and unusual quality are very rare from here. This is a striking solid and dense cluster of lustrous intergrown dominating pretty pastel-pink manganoan calcite scalenohedrons with smaller colorless calcite scalenohedrons. The two impressive large pink spires have a beautiful feathery look, especially the large spire, which is 3.3 cm tall. Fascinating, rare and rich old-time multi-generational calcite from this locale.
