Striking sharp lustrous and translucent mellow pastel-pink manganoan calcite spires, to 4.0 cm, cover this dramatically sculptural triangular specimen from the famous mines at Naica. Scattered tiny sharp chalcopyrite sphenoids and clusters on small 2nd generation calcites are super accessories. A few of the larger spikes have gently bruised tips, but overall the interior is in super condition. Shocking neon-orange and hot pink color under LW UV light. A very sculptural 360-degree from the 1960s or 70s finds. The noted periphery wear is certainly only a modest detraction to this striking calcite from the Tom Wolfe Calcite Collection. Scalenohedrons of this size, style and form are RARE from Naica, as most calcites are rhombs or much shorter scalenohedrons.
