Item Description
Manganoan calcite is rare from this historic mining district and this is an exceptional and aesthetic example. Lustrous, translucent, pretty pastel-pink, pseudo-hexagonal scalenohedrons have very nifty, intense stepped-growth faces, which really adds pazzazz. The crystals are up to about 4.5 cm long. Nearly pristine, with only one broken crystal noted on the periphery, which is certainly not a detraction. Undoubtably old-time and seldom available material from this classic district, but no proof. Super orange fluorescence.
