Item Description

Both manganoan calcite and quartz are rare from this well-known Santa Eulalia mine. BUT, to find both in combination in a very aesthetic specimen is exceptional! A very nifty secondary coating of sparkly, drusy, calcite or quartz adds real pizzazz to the lustrous, translucent, pretty pastel-pink, manganoan calcite scalenohedrons, that richly and preferentially coat the the sharply terminated, glassy, transparent to translucent, quartz crystal. This fantastic and rare combination is complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a bit of nondescript bruising to the calcites near the termination. The exact locality is the Condesa Chimney, 21st Level. Ex Dr. Ed David Collection. Ed was Science Advisor to President Nixon and assembled several world-class collections. Neon orange-pink fluorescence. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!
