Item Description

Manganoan calcite of this style, richness and quality is uncommon from this famous Broken Hill mine. Pretty pastel-pink, frosted, translucent, nailhead spar crystals dramatically, densely and aesthetically cover the thin matrix plate on this very fine 360-degree piece from the Tom Wolfe Calcite Collection. The prisms reach about 2.7 cm. The piece displays beautifully from all sides. The one gently bruised and one broken crystal in the interior and very modest periphery wear are barely noticeable and are certainly only minimal detractions to this exceptional and rare calcite from this classic locale. Bright neon-orange fluorescence!
