Item Description

Dal'negorsk mines are renowned for fabulous combination sulfide specimens and here is a very fine and aesthetic small cabinet. A beautiful and aesthetically set rosette of of glassy, stepped-growth, flattened, pastel-pink manganoan calcite rhombs to 5.2 cm sits atop the stand-alone matrix wedge and spills over onto both sides. The front is dramatically accented with striking, splendent, "melted-look", galena crystals below luminous, golden chalcopyrite crystals. This face is peppered with small quartz points. Very interestingly the back side is bare of any secondaries! Strange chemistry here! Nearly pristine, with only a trivial bit of edge bruising to one of the smaller calcite rhombs. Super neon-orange fluorescence! Choice older two-sided combination material from the late 1980s to mid-1990s. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. Herb valued this piece at $450, more than five years ago. It is definitely worth more today. It has fine form.
