Item Description

An impressive and unusual 6.0 cm manganoan calcite scalenohedron dominates this dramatic and aesthetic combination specimen from the Krushev dol Mine at Madan. A 1.1 cm nailhead rhomb caps the pastel-pink crystal, which has striking dense nailhead rhombs covering sides. Quartz points and sphalerite crystals on the mounded matrix are a fine accent to this excellent 360-degree calcite. This is an unusual and uncommon manganoan calcite form for the locale. Nearly pristine, with only a trivial bit of side wear, which is barely noticeable and is certainly only a modest detraction. BRIGHT orange fluorescence! Choice and desirable calcite.
