Item Description
Shocking neon-orange color under LW UV light on this dramatic cluster of very sharp dogtooth manganoan calcite spikes from the famous mines at Naica. The lustrous, translucent super sharp scalenohedrons have mellow pastel-pink color. The spikes reach 6.0 cm and the crystals in the interior are pristine. A dramatic and sculptural 360-degree from the 1960s or 70s finds. The noted periphery wear is certainly only a modest detraction to this striking calcite from the Tom Wolfe Calcite Collection. Scalenohedrons of this size, style and form are RARE from Naica, as most calcites are rhombs or much shorter scalenohedrons.
