A striking and sculptural large combination from the famous and ancient mines at Cavnic. Intergrown dogtooth crystal sprays of glassy, light blush, manganoan calcite crystals are dramatically scattered on the rolling matrix of bladed barite botryoids. The dense peppering of tiny, nubby marcasite botryoids adds real contrast to this most impressive piece. The one spot of bruising and noted periphery wear have negligible impact on the overall high artistic quality of the fine and classic combination. Modest fluorescence. From an East Coast collection.
