Item Description
Vivid neon-pink fluoresence on this very sculptural shrub-like large thumbnail of light pastel-pink densely intergrown melted-look manganoan calcite scalenohedrons from this very well-known Peru mining district. Pachapaqui manganoan calcites are some of the most easilty recognizable Peruvian species and come in a wide variety of crystal habits and styles, including sharp scalenohedrons and tabular pokerchips. See the 1997 Peru Mineralogical Record issue, Vol. 28, No. 4. An excellent thumbnail of this style from the locale.
