Item Description
A classic, dense and showy plate of translucent, lightly frosted, pretty pastel-pink, manganoan calcite scalenohedrons from the historic Idarado Mine of Colorado. The terminations of all of the many crystals are pristine and the periphery wear is certainly not a detraction to this desirable calcite. Excellent for a soft species. This is a choice 360-degree example of the species and famous locale. Super neon-orange fluorescence! Old piece from the Bob Trimingham Collection, acquired in1969 from Walt Lidstrom at the Vallejo, California Show. Valued at $500.
