Purple (manganoan) adamite is one of the three Holy Grail species from Mina Ojuela, along with legrandite and scorodite. This AESTHETIC and BEAUTIFUL cutie features a gorgeous, radiating floret of glassy purple adamite crystals with sharp, chisel terminations nicely set on the sturdy, gossan matrix. This piece is from the one-time find in 1981 and is SUPER representative for this very desirable manganoan-adamite species (erroneously once thought to be cobaltoan). Ex Jaime Bird Collection. I would value this around $1500 for the outstanding quality. Try to find another like it...it is difficult. and I really think even $1500 is a fair price...i could see it go for more here, or at a show, because of the good pinwheel aesthetics. Note the priec was OLD, when they came out! And Jaime worked fo rJean Haml and so got pick of her lot for his choice toenails and miniatures suites
