Item Description
Purple (manganoan) adamite is one of the three Holy Grail species from Mina Ojuela, along with legrandite and scorodite. Two very glassy parallel-growth crystals have purple tips and very gemmy, pretty purple/pink cores surrounded by hues of yellow to amber. The lustrous crystals have textbook chisel terminations. There is a very nifty notch in the termination with a bit of limonite. This piece is from the one-time find in 1981 and is highly representative for this very desirable manganoan adamite species (erroneously once thought to be cobaltoan). Ex Dave Stoudt Collection. I would value this around $200-300 for the fine quality and large crystal size.
