Item Description
Purple (manganoan) adamite is one of the three Holy Grail species from Mina Ojuela, along with legrandite and scorodite. This aesthetic thumbnail features a showy cluster of sharply terminated, fairly large, purple-tipped adamite crystals with pretty hues of yellow and pastel-green on a shard of adamite matrix. The glassy crystals have textbook chisel terminations. A couple of broken crystals are noted and one termination is very gently bruised. This piece is from the one-time find in 1981 and is highly representative for this very desirable manganoan adamite species (erroneously once thought to be cobaltoan). Ex Dave Stoudt Collection. I would value this around $300-500 for the fine quality and large crystal size.
