Item Description
Purple (manganoan) adamite is one of the three Holy Grail species from Mina Ojuela, along with legrandite and scorodite. This aesthetic and showy miniature features a sharply terminated, fairly large, 1.8 cm, purple adamite crystal with pretty hues of yellow and pastel-green jauntily angled on the sculptural, sturdy gossan matrix. The smaller, glassy adamites at base, in a jackstraw pattern, are a very fine accent to this excellent piece. This piece is from the one-time find in 1981 and is highly representative for this very desirable manganoan-adamite species (erroneously once though to be cobaltoan). Ex Dave Stoudt Collection. I would value this around $300-500 for the fine quality.
