Item Description

Glassy, rich violet manganoan adamite crystals are aesthetically clustered and scattered elsewhere in the sculptural vug lined with starkly contrasting juicy, nubby, olive-green spherical adamite aggregates on this very fine and uncommon adamite combination from the famed one-time 1981 find at Mina Ojuela. The violet crystals have sharp chisel terminations and colorless bases. Purple (manganoan) adamite is one of the three Holy Grail species from Mina Ojuela, along with legrandite and scorodite. This is a highly representative example for this very desirable manganoan adamite species (erroneously once thought to be cobaltoan). Ex James Zigras Mexico Collection.
