Item Description

Manganite specimens are very rare from the iron mines of Iron County, all of which were closed by the end of the 1960s. This is a rich mass of bubby, botryoidal to vesicular manganite. Many of the faces sparkle with a secondary overgrowth of tiny manganite crystals. Older material. Ex Wallace Bates Collection.
