Item Description
A very hard to find cabinet sized display specimen of the sought after Manganites from the Lucy Mine / McComber Mine in the Marquette Iron Range. A hefty "mound" consisting of hundreds of notably sharp and rather lustrous / metallic black crystals of Manganite with very little damage overall. Yes, the back / bottom is contacted where the piece was removed from the pocket, but you just don't see these specimens on the market in any capacity, especially big cabinet sized pieces like this. If you collect midwest minerals, worldwide Manganites, or if you specialize is Manganites from Michigan, Wisconsin or Minnesota, don't miss out on this one. PLEASE NOTE: The piece weighs 1,294 grams (nearly 3 pounds), and will require an additional shipping charge, so please keep this in mind when bidding.
