Item Description
Large and rare specimen of Manganite from the famous Wessels Mine. Both the surface and side pocket of this small cabinet piece are covered by botryoidal Manganite that has such a good luster that the surface just sparkles like a rolling sea of deep gray jewels. The largest botryoid is nearly 1 cm, but most are the order of 2-4 mm. This is an excellent Manganite specimen, and far better in person. Rare for the locality, despite the fact that this region holds so much of the world's manganese reserves!
