Item Description

Manganite crystals are actually very rare in the Kalahari Manganese Fields! Sculptural, and lustrous cluster of intergrown Manganite crystals that reach 2.2 cm in length. The crystals are lustrous and silver-black, with many of the curved terminations having a luster so good they almost look buffed. From the sides of the specimen, you can see the lustrous, almost scalloped, prism faces of the Manganites. Quite attractive, and much more so in person, especially with the outstanding luster. It is contacted along the base and back, but that in no way affects the aesthetics of the piece. Surprisingly, actual Manganite crystals are quite rare from the Kalahari Manganese Field. I know not why. Other than in Charlie's collection, I have not seen many for sale, either.
