Manebach-twinned Orthoclase xl (RARE old Japan)

Item Description

A RARE, sharp, old-time Japanese Manebach-twinned Orthoclase crystal from Akita Prefecture. The East Coast collection label says Ugo, Japan. Ugo was an old Honshu Island province that is now in Akita Prefecture. The very sharp, moderatey lustrous, tan crystal has a sharp twinning plane on a narrow edge. Sharply crystallized orthoclase crystals are RARE from any of the numerous Japanese localities, that MINDAT lists. Akita Prefecture is not listed by MINDAT for the Tohoku Region.
