Item Description

A VERY RARE and impressive large combination from an unknown Riverside County locale. The striking sharp and sharply terminated porcelaneous lustre 360-degree Manebach-twinned orthoclase crystal is preferentially festooned on all four sides AND the base with tiny sparkly to matte-finish olive-green epidote crystals. MINDAT lists numerous Riverside County localities for orthoclase and epidote, but illustrated specimens of this combination quality and richness are nonexistent in the Photo Galleries. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. A MUST for the locality or species collector. We assume that he self-collected these. For California, or the USA in general, what a superb twinned crystal!
