Item Description

Velvet malachite has pseudomorphed an aesthetic dense cluster of sharply terminated azurite crystals on this excellent and classic pseudo specimen from the Campbell Shaft. The crystals reach 2.7 cm. Periphery wear is noted on the sides, but has negligible impact on the quality of this fine piece from the Dave Stoudt Bisbee Collection # 269. Obtained in a trade in July, 1994 with Barry Mercer of Mercer Minerals and valued at $350, at the time. It is worth more today, I would think in the $900-1200 range. It is quite sharp and of an unusual style for Bisbee; beautiful in person.
