Item Description

A nice piece from this famous mine featuring rather lustrous, deep forest green colored spherical aggregates of Malachite which are intermixed with pale blue-white to robins egg blue bands of Chrysocolla on host rock matrix. This piece came from a 2002 discovery at the copper-rich L’Etoile du Congo Mine (Star of the Congo). Very little damage to the central Malachite groups, but obviously the periphery is contacted where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. Again, the above average luster on the Malachites is noteworthy, as the species is rarely seen in crystals with such a sparkling shine like this.
