Item Description

Removed intact, this pocket of botryoidal, primary Malachite is from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The forest-green Malachite has a microcrystalline surface that creates a glittery, shimmery surface that is eye-catching, and reminds me of fresh, powdery snow (Irish snow, clearly). This rich coating of Malachite is underlain by a thin layer of blue Chrysocolla, creating both mineral and visual interest. The condition of this cabinet-sized specimen is excellent, save for the few contacted knobs on one end. This is choice material from a well-known, and now abandoned, copper mine that is only worked intermittently for mineral specimens. Aesthetic and SSparkly!
