Malachite with Calcite (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

This is the first specimen of Malachite that we've had to offer from this relatively obscure locality on Serifos Island. The piece features stark emerald green colored Malachite with is accented by contrasting white Calcite rhombs on matrix. The piece looks beautiful up close, and even though these are common species, I can't remember seeing on like it before. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#8324). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
