Malachite with Azurite (from 1948) (ex Sampter Collection)

Item Description

A cool post-WWII association specimen of velvety green Malachite and rich blue Azurite underneath. The label is attributed to the collection of E. L. Sampter, and states that it's simply from "Arizona" from the year 1948. It would be difficult to pinpoint an exact locality for the piece, but I'm sure some tireless Arizona collector or mineral expert could figure it out no problem. It's a cool specimen from nearly 70 years ago, and gives one a nice glimpse into what was coming out of Arizona at that time.
