Item Description

The Apex Mine, just west of St. George, Utah was mined for gallium and germanium, but it's best known for its colorful secondary ore minerals. With that said, it's rare to find specimens from the Apex Mine on the market today. Here we have an impressive small cabinet display specimen featuring beautiful botryoidal aggregates of Malachite measuring up to 7 mm across, associated with rich blue Azurite on matrix . The beautiful blue and green colors combined with the sculptural form of the piece make it a unique and desirable specimen that would fit wonderfully into a collection of secondary ore minerals or specimens from the southwestern United States. Good quality, and good sized for the locality. Valued $1,200. Ex Brian Kosnar specimen.
