Item Description
The rolling matrix of shimmering chatoyant banded malachite is nicely accented with glassy cerussite prisms, to 1.5 cm. Classic and showy miniature combination material from the famous Brown's Prospect at Rum Jungle. Malachite with pyromorphite and/or cerussite are famous from this very well-known small Pb-Cu-Co-Ni-Zn deposit. Many fine specimens were recovered in the 1970s from bulldozer cuts in the prospect and the deposit was commercially mined starting in 2009. The typical piece could be from either collecting era. Classic Rum Jungle cerussite and malachite.
