Item Description

Spherical aggregates of primary malachite crystals fill a well-placed sculptural vug in the blocky gossan matrix. Glassy calcites on the malachite and the field of turquoise-blue chrysocolla below on the matrix are colorful and typical accessories on this showy combination from the famous Old Dominion Mine. An attractive and rich older malachite combination piece from this historic Arizona locale, probably dating to the 1950s or earlier. The mine closed in 1957.
