Malachite w/ Atacamite (RARE Chile)

Item Description

Malachite specimens are EXTREMELY RARE from the numerous copper mines of the Coquimbo Region of Chile, which sounds strange. An impressive large egg-shaped botryoid is composed mostly of matte-finish light green malachite. Scattered patches of sprays of lustrous forest-green atacamite lathes are a super accent. The attached matrix hosts more malachite and atacamite. Ex Kay Robertson Collection with no collection number. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). RARE and exotic looking combination material from this region of Chile.
