Item Description

Fantastic, sculptural, elongated, segmented malachite botryoids and single rich green shimmering botryoids fill a dramatic large curved vug on this spectacular specimen from the famous copper mines of the Kolwezi district. The otherworldly bent botryoid is 5.0 cm long and the solitary lower middle stalactite is 4.5 cm long. The stalactite on the upper right has the hollow tube, where the precipitating copper-rich fluids flowed, add even more pizzazz. Amazingly, for such density and size, the stunning piece is essentially pristine. It displays beautifully without aid. Older material from the 1970s to 90s. Matrix specimens of this richness, quality, aesthetics and large size are RARE and desirable. Valued at $2500.
