Malachite stalactites (old)

Item Description

Classic and excellent, older Kolwezi malachite stalactites from the 1970s or 80s. The sculptural form is enhanced by the very sparkly secondary malachite overgrowth over the dense, very dark green rind. The rind has a distinct metallic ring, when tapped with a fingernail. The bit of scattered scuffing is certainly a very modest detraction of this dramatic large specimen. The base has been sawed and polished to reveal the beautiful "eyes".
