Malachite stalactite (excellent - 1980s find)

Item Description

An aesthetic and dramatic malachite stalactite with rich color and a striking nubby texture. The stalactite has a cupped termination with a nifty overflow spillway on one side. Part of the banded malachite base (visible on one side and the base) is beautiful, chatoyant velvet malachite. The stalactite is pristine and the base also shows, that part of the stalcatite is hollow. This is outstanding and unusual old-time material for China (late 1980s, when Chinese material was just coming to market). From the Shilu Mine and compares with the best from Africa.
