Item Description

These distinctive and beautiful specimens from Whim Creek are iconic for their form, and excellent pseudomorphism. This well-known locality dates back to the 1880's, and has given collectors some really beautiful specimens over the years. This piece features excellent thick bladed crystals of Malachite originally replacing Azurite measuring up to 2.0 cm, sitting on oxidized matrix. The original form of the Azurites can clearly be seen in good detail. To top it off, I can see some very tiny lustrous golden Wulfenite crystals measuring up to 2 mm, sprinkled all over the piece. This piece is showy, three-dimensional, and that color combo is quite pleasing. I love these pieces, and they are so seldom available on the market. A little bit of roughness can be seen, but the piece is largely in very good shape. If you collect pseudomorphs, colorful secondary ore minerals or Australian material, this is a good opportunity to pick up one of these classic specimens from Whim Creek.
